Know What Blog Time is Right For You:  To Blog or Not to Blog?

By Roxanne Reyes

Have you ever ask yourself: when is the best time to blog? or when not to blog?

Guess what time it is?  Yes, it’s blog time.

This challenge of when to blog has been puzzling me for the last 3-6 months.
I’ve yet to experiment about the perfect time to post an article for everyone to see and most of all pay attention to. I’ve come across some really good advice this morning while watching some videos on Youtube.
What better way to get the word out? Videos are short, concise and to the point that people can digest in minutes.
I had an epiphany when I was watching Ty Lopez’s video about posting on social media. He made some points that fascinated me, for instance when to post, the quality of your post, and the demographic or target you want to go after.

What better way to be inspired?

Blog time is a time for you to shine.  It’s a way to tell the world what you are made of.
Think no one is listening, think again.  Think of blog time as hump day.  You know the camel in the Geico commercial in the office that says, “Guess what time it is, it’s hump day!.”
Well, think of hump day as your day to do blog time.  This is when people are going to expect you to blog on a particular day.  It’s like blog time is your hook.  Your blog is going to hook people to read your awesome articles.

It’s blog time everybody!  Get motivated!

  1. Blog Time is Knowing When to Blog

Now this is important and listen carefully.
This first scenario is that if you post something in the morning or late at night.
Imagine you have this unique peanut butter and you want to show someone this amazing peanut butter with chocolate swirls, but you go to their house like at 3 am in the morning. They’re probably going to be upset at you and tell you to get out.
However, if you tell them you got this amazing peanut butter after they got their coffee and are wide awake around 10 am, they will appreciate you giving them the peanut butter because they’ve probably didn’t eat any breakfast yet.  Therefore, you see my point now because now people will listen to you and eat your product.
That goes the same if you’re posting an article about your product or service.  I’ve learned you need to be in front of people at the right time, so your timing has to be perfect otherwise they will just throw it away.
    Wait a minute…
You’re like what if you run a medical practice?   or What if you’re a fitness trainer?
Create your blog time when your customers are available.
I’m assuming this will be the same.
Imagine your first patient is coming to see you at 8 or 9 am in the morning.
In order to be at their appointment on time, they awake lets say around 6 am.
You can be there to service your patients in the morning.  They either called you the previous day to schedule an appointment or booked it on your website.
So if people saw your post at 7 or 8 am in the morning that would be perfect because you’re audience or patients are awake during those hours.
But it gets better…

What if you can earn 40% more money?

How?
An online booking platform by PingUp had recently done a study in 2016 to uncover some trends and insights on how online bookings can increase sales.
The data shown that online bookings grew 30%.
That’s not all.
Schedules happening 24/7:  Appointments grew 60% during business hours and 40% during after hours.
Between men vs. women:  68% shows that women booked appointments online more
That’s amazing!
So if you don’t have an appointment form on your website, you need to get one today!
You don’t want to miss out on all the potential revenue left out on the table.  And to miss out on those opportunities would be really really sad.
However, this isn’t aimed at just doctors or fitness trainers.  This can also apply to any service based business industry.
I know this article was for blogging, but I have also threw in a side bonus to feature appointment forms too.

    2.  Blog time Should be About Quality

This really matters not to some people, but to all people.
Make blog time a matter of quality.
Trust me when I post something that is blah or crappy. I don’t get any response at all.  I don’t get any likes or views at all when I post something that is mediocre.  However, when I post something that I’ve spent a lot of time on and carefully researched and format it to make it pop then I get lots of views and likes.  Therefore, when you post something make sure it’s awesome and you make it pop.
Now go out there and make some noise.  Create awesome content that your audience would love and benefit from.

There’s more…

Can you run out of ideas to blog about?

The answer is if you no.
If you don’t know what to blog about then try these simple techniques:
  1. Jot down some ideas-Here’s an example, in my composition book I have written down at least 30-50 topics on my niche, which is technology, health, science and web design.  Then narrow down further about several headlines that will make the top 20 list.
  2. Blog time should be about your passion-If you love animals then create an idea, for example about animal protection, animal laws, animal enthusiasts.  I don’t know but if you got an idea or subject that you love talking about then it’s worth talking about it because you have a lot to say.
  3. Create a how to blog to get started- How to’s is a great way of getting someone’s attention.  We all like to find out how to do something, so create a list of how to’s to get the ball rolling.
