Do you ever feel like no one is listening? Well, fret no more because I have some fascinating steps to grow your business. Blog smarter by scientific evidence. I've used this advice and it works every time.
When you're a newbie and you need to get a head start, you should look to science. Why?
I just need to put this out there because a lot of you want to start a business and grow your audience. So why not have proven case studies that already worked for so many people?
Are you prepared to work hard? I mention this because growing a blog is not EASY. You need to put some elbow grease to make your blog successful.
No matter if you want to grow your medical practice or start a personal training business, you need to start establishing yourself out there. One way is blogging. Yes, it's the number one way to grow your audience. And the number one way to market yourself.
Make sure your content is well thought out and geared towards the audience that you're aiming for. For instance, if you're a pain management doctor offer some tips on how you can ease their pain by doing a certain exercise. Can you recommend some alternative medicine that won't harm your patients? or Can you offer some nutritious tips for pain management?
If you're a fitness trainer, can you offer exercise tips that will help people in your gym? Do you have any weight loss tips? For example, a personal trainer told me that interval cardio training will help you lose more weight rather than just running non-stop. People love short cuts to maximizing their weight loss. You see anything that will help your reader to see you as an expert is really valuable to growing your following.
The same goes for a physical therapist. As a professional therapist, what is some tips you can give your patients that will ease lower back pain? Many people like me can personally benefit from your advice because either we have been in a serious car accident or have been hurt on the job.
I have experienced three car accidents in my lifetime. Each time I've been to physical therapy, it has relieved my pain dramatically. It was a lifesaver for me. I had whip lash and nerve pain that went all the way down to my feet. It seemed after the last accident I wasn't normal. When I sat down sometimes, my nerves would shock me in my toes. It was weird.
But the electrotherapy made my nerves more relaxed. The muscle stretches and massages made me less tense in my shoulders and neck. It felt amazing. It felt like a spa treatment that gave me a moment of peace.
Blog Smarter: Be Organized, Focused and Engaging when Blogging
These tips are a no brainier when it comes to writing.
You also want your blog to be organized, focused, and engaged with your audience. Thus, be certain that you put some kind of value that your reader will use towards their benefit. Everyone loves content that can make their life easier.
Organize your blog so it's easy to read by using headers that follow your subject
Focus on a core idea so you are not confusing the reader
Engage your audience by asking them to leave a comment at the end of your article
2. Blog Smarter toKnow your Target Audience
The reason that you have a blog is to target an audience or client that you want to serve. Every time you write an article, you want to know several things about your ideal client.
What age are you targeting?
If you are a physical therapist, speak to an appropriate age group that are likely to receive physical therapy, such as age groups that work in hazardous occupations, or have been in serious accidents. Is it most likely 25-65 years of age? Therefore, speak in a language that is age appropriate. For example, speaking to a teenager is different compared to speaking to an adult.
How about their demographic?
Are you serving people locally in your area?
Write articles to cater to people locally in your city or nationally if you serve a wider audience.
Bonus Tip: Most times people are engaged by the stunning images on a blog. Have a picture that grabs some people's attention and include them throughout your posts. Also, by providing images with cool colors really makes you stand out and appear more interesting.
Moreover, have videos to help your website to rank higher on Google.
3. Blog Smarter By Liking, Commenting, and following other Blogs
To gain more attention towards your own blog, be sure to like, comment and follow other bloggers. In this way, your blog gains more exposure and support from other bloggers and attraction from other readers. You can also join a community blog to gain advice and exchange ideas from other writers.
I've discovered if I like and comment on other blogs or YouTube channels or whatever, they are more likely to follow me.
Twitter is an awesome way to get your business noticed. Although, it's very noisy, Twitter can be a useful tool to networking with other physical therapists, pain management physicians or personal trainers. I like commenting on Twitter because I get instant feedback no matter if you are using hashtags or not.
If you have social media accounts, such as Facebook, Twitter or YouTube make sure to consistently offer value on those platforms. You don't need to be on every single type of media, but just have some in mind that you can be consistent on. I would master one type of platform and engage with people on that rather than doing ten things at once.
If you want a really good book to read to master social media, pick up 'Jab, Jab, Jab, Right Hook' by Gary Vaynerchuk. He is a social media expert that knows how to present content in a way that will capture people's attention. Vaynerchuk has grown his family's wine business to more than 6 million dollars using social media and video content. He is a living testimony of growing an audience. I've learned a lot from Gary Vaynerchuk because he mentions that giving value is the ultimate way to growing your business from 0 to 100. It's the jabs that he mentions are the value. The more you jab the bigger the pay off.
Never underestimate the power of blogging. My advice to you is to never to give up. Even though it might be very time consuming and daunting, don't give up. This is your lively hood.
